Manager, Strategic Marketing

Atlantic 57 is the award-winning consulting division of The Atlantic. We were founded to help nonprofits, corporations, and institutions learn from The Atlantic’s transformation from legacy magazine to media pioneer.

Today, our ambitious and collaborative team of strategists, editors, writers, designers, product engineers, and researchers works with Fortune 500 companies, foundations, fast-growing  start-ups, and other media brands to engage influential audiences and create substantive experiences.

We are looking for a forward-thinking, strategic, and creative individual with interest or experience in storytelling, business strategy, and business development to join our marketing team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build senior-level partnerships with internal sales stakeholders, acting as an internal consultant to determine their most pressing business needs and how to solve for them
  • Develop compelling proposal narratives that communicate how Atlantic 57 is uniquely equipped to solve clients’ biggest challenges and position themselves for growth
  • Manage the proposal lifecycle from start to finish, applying strong project management practices to guide highly custom proposals to successful outcomes
  • Evolve Atlantic 57’s brand story and how it ties into The Atlantic’s value proposition, in collaboration with other business units
  • Conceptualize and create essential brand and marketing assets to power Atlantic 57’s sales and growth efforts, including proprietary conference programming, high-impact case studies, and materials highlighting our evolving set of bespoke services
  • Lead education initiatives to inform team members across Atlantic 57 and The Atlantic on Atlantic 57’s marketing, proposal, and brand practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-6 years of experience working on an entrepreneurial marketing or business strategy team
  • A passion for, and particular professional focus on, telling compelling stories—written, verbal, and visual
  • Stellar written, visual, and verbal communication skills with an ability to convey complex ideas in clear and compelling ways
  • Strong project management experience and unyielding attention to detail, including the ability to create project plans, timelines, meeting agendas, and working rhythms that incorporate inputs from many individuals
  • Excellent design skills, particularly in Google Slides and Docs
  • Passion for understanding digital trends in the media industry
