We are looking for a digitally native, highly creative video producer who will shoot, edit, and script, with a strong grasp of narrative and the writing skills to execute their vision. The candidate will start out working on a weekly news show focusing on China’s influence around the world, though they should be ready to work on a wide variety of obsessions over time.
The successful candidate needs to have strong journalistic instincts, an interest in international news, and an eye for smart, interesting—often counterintuitive—stories. They’re a self starter who is equally comfortable working independently as they are working collaboratively with the rest of the team to bring a story to fruition.
This journalist will be a strong producer, shooter, and editor, who thinks visually to tell a story in the most engaging way. Motion graphics skills are an added bonus.
This journalist will join a highly collaborative international team with a mandate to pursue stories best told in video. We are looking for someone with an obsessive interest in digital videos and a compulsion to find the most original, creative approaches to stories.
Knowledge of languages, in addition to English are a huge plus. This role is based in our New York office, but will involve some travel.
