The Atlantic is searching for an Audience Development Manager to help our journalism reach and engage even more readers. In this role, you will partner with edit, product, consumer revenue, and advertising as an expert on audience-related trends. You will be a key resource for helping colleagues understand who is engaging with our work, how often they are returning, and how we are faring with our most-loyal fans and customers.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will, in part, depend on the news cycle and the changes that will inevitably spring up across the platforms where we publish. But part of your daily focus will always account for analysis of off-platform reach and onsite activity, along with experiments to bolster growth. You may also dabble in search marketing and social media acquisition.
We are looking for a specific set of skills, but these experiences could come from a number of backgrounds. Prior experience in publishing and media is preferable; a passion for journalism, though, is most important. GA 360, Facebook Analytics, and Google Data Studio will be daily destinations. You’ll report directly to the Director of Audience Development, based in New York.
