Junior Copywriter & Creative Marketer

The Atlantic is looking for a creative marketer and communicator to join the customer marketing & growth team. We oversee all paid-content and customer-experience strategies, focusing on growing subscribers, members, and fans. This role will work closely with the department’s senior team to create the marketing efforts designed to deepen the relationship between The Atlantic and its audiences.


  • Write all marketing copy for promotions, customer management, and products
  • Collaborate with the design team on creative assets
  • Assist in developing messaging strategies for all brand-marketing and direct-response efforts
  • Develop creative ideas and, where applicable, manage execution for both onsite and off-platform marketing
  • Work with data team to understand campaign results and adjust messaging strategy whenever needed

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Exceptional and pithy communicator, especially with the written word
  • Ability to manage a diverse portfolio
  • Knowledgeable about both direct-response and brand marketing
  • Some experience with email marketing and design tools a plus
