Junior Designer

AtlanticLIVE, the live events arm of The Atlantic magazine, seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and collaborative Junior Designer to join our team and contribute to the design and marketing of a wide range of editorial event opportunities for corporate, non-profit, and foundation clients.

The role will play a critical part in developing creative for our events, print, digital social media, email and video needs.



  • Design Aficionado: a passion for design with a trove of inspiration
  • Adobe CS Design Suite Expert: knows the ins and outs of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Audition and relevant web design applications. Familiarity with HTML, and CSS. In addition, the Junior Designer should be proficient in After Effects, Final Cut Pro X and other relevant video editing software
  • A True Collaborator: loves brainstorming, takes constructive feedback and delivers desired creative
  • Organizational Maven and Multi-tasker: thrives in fast-paced environments, likes to juggle multiple projects, and knows the status of every outstanding design assignment
  • Big Thinker: thinks outside of the box; takes minimal information and produces a truly unique concept
  • Incredible Attention to Detail: dots every “I” and crosses every “T;” can tell immediately if a font is not jiving or alignment is off kilter



  • Creating event identities from ideation to completion
  • Building beautiful presentations for selling and marketing events
  • Working closely with printers and event producers on bringing designs to life on stage
  • Serving as a creative force in brainstorms, strategy and culture
  • Developing video creative
